Welcome back?

I am not one for resolutions, New Year's or otherwise. But the timing is apt for me to return to world of blogging about the books I read. There are two compelling reasons for this: the first is that I have fallen out of the habit of tracking what books I've read, and the other is that I read so much it's hard to keep track of what happened in particular stories.

My hope is to blog at the end of each month to list all the books I've read, and to reflect on the titles that I most enjoyed. To prepare for this, I'm finishing up the books I've had in progress for far to long. I finished Jane Eyre in the wee hours of the morning (and didn't hate Mr. Rochester nearly so much this time, though I still find it contemptible that he so humiliated Jane through his duplicity), I'm almost done with Black Swan Green by David Mitchell, and if all goes well I will finish I Felt a Funeral in My Brain late tonight--or perhaps that will be my first completed book of 2019. Check back!
